The residents, faculty, and staff of Utah Valley Family Medicine Residency in Provo, Utah, encourage all interested fourth-year medical students to come and spend two weeks or four weeks with us for a family medicine or community medicine rotation. We are committed to providing a meaningful learning opportunity in an educationally progressive, supportive learning environment.

Rotation Overview

Students who do rotations with us spend part of their rotation rounding with our inpatient family medicine team at Utah Valley Hospital. Our hospital service provides the full spectrum of family medicine, including adult and obstetric patients. Students are responsible for following their own patients, writing progress notes and presenting a care plan to the team on rounds. Students are also required to do some day/evening call.

Students are encouraged to be contributors on the team by participating in discussions, procedures, and occasionally making presentations on pertinent medical topics. The remainder of the month is spent in our outpatient clinic located across the road from the main hospital campus for about 2 weeks, and a full day with our amazing pediatric inpatient team who recently received the remarkable designation as the Utah Valley Hospital Primary Children's Network.

About the Clinic

This clinic is a state-of-the-art facility with 19 exam rooms and two procedure rooms. It offers students experience with electronic medical records.
