Saint Mary’s Regional Hospital has been designated Magnet since February 2022 and is currently working towards re-accreditation. Magnet designated hospitals are considered the gold standard for nursing practice and innovation. Magnet is a recognition program operated by the American Nursing Credentialling Center (ANCC). It provides a roadmap to advancing nursing practice excellence with a collaborative culture of caring. The five pillars of Magnet include Transformational Leadership, Structural Empowerment, Exemplary Professional Practice, New Knowledge and Innovation, and Empirical Quality Results, which is referred to as the Magnet report card.
Nursing Professional Practice Model
The Nursing Professional Practice Model (NPPM) is a visual reminder of the various components of exceptional care provided by nurses at St. Mary’s Regional Hospital. It is a visual and written representation of the professional work nurses do, while aligning with the organization’s mission, vision and values. The patients, families and community are at the center of the care approach, fueling the commitment of nursing values. The elements of the NPPM include advocate, empower, innovate, collaborate and inspire. The NPPM represents the talent, engagement, dedication and culture of nursing practice at St. Mary’s Regional Hospital Intermountain Health.

iAspire Program
The iAspire Nursing Professional Development Program supports nurses who promote a culture of inquiry and lifelong learning. The iAspire program awards nurses who achieve personal and professional growth and demonstrate nursing excellence. It is the aim of the iAspire nursing Professional Development Program to build upon engagement within the work environment and increase job satisfaction. By doing so, the enhancement of quality patient care is developed with a culture of zero harm to the community served. This program enhances the use of evidence based practice (EBP) in patient care delivery and supports the Nursing Professional Practice Model (NPPM) by promoting nursing excellence.
