A new team of certified nurse midwives and OB-GYNs at Orem Community Hospital are bringing a host of women’s health services to Utah County. And it’s a lot more than babies (although they do a lot of that).

The team brings years of experience in women’s health and advanced qualifications to the Orem/Vineyard area.

“We all have advanced degrees in nursing; each of us is certified,” said Leslie DiVall, advanced practice provider at the Women’s Center Orem. “A certified nurse midwife is an advanced practice professional, which is different from entry level midwives.”

Midwives and pregnancies/delivery

Moms-to-be are all different. Some want epidurals, others prefer alternative pain management techniques such as breathing, relaxation, positions and massage. Some want to labor in water tubs, some require a cesarean. Orem Community offers many options when it comes to whatever support expectant mothers want and need. 

The Simply Birth program at Orem Community offers families a larger room, and tubs for labor while ensuring that medical support is readily available. A personalized program is worked out with each family through pregnancy, delivery and postpartum care. 

Midwives do a lot more than deliveries

Our team also helps women with everything from medical weight loss and mental health to menopause care and annual wellness exams. Whatever you need help with, they are an excellent first point of contact.

Extra help when you need it

There are occasions when surgery is needed, or complications suddenly arise. The team includes, and has access to, OB-GYNs, skilled in procedures including cesarean delivery.
