Our crisis team at Lehi provides evaluations and behavioral health support and services during a crisis. The team will meet with your child, the child’s caregivers, and with our providers to determine the best care available. We will also provide safety strategies and skills for your child and family to use during this time.
If you feel like your child is experiencing a behavioral health crisis, visit our Primary Children’s Lehi emergency room, or the nearest emergency room. Learn more about our crisis support programs below and for assistance and admissions information call ARCS at 801-313-7711.
Supporting youth in crisis: Partial hospitalization program
Designed for adolescents 12-18 years old, this program supports your child in a mental health crisis. The program lasts for seven business days, between 8:30 am to 2:30 pm, and includes:
- Individual therapy: One-on-one sessions each day with a licensed mental health therapist focusing on stabilization, safety, how the adolescent is applying their care, and assessment for continued support.
- Psychiatry services: Which provides an evaluation to help address current diagnoses, adjust or start medications as needed, and assess for needed care. Daily support is also available as needed.
- Skills groups: Designed to provide peer support and connection, 3 engaging group sessions will run each day.
- The first group teaches adolescents to understand a skill/coping strategy.
- The second group moves into practicing that skill in the group setting.
- The third group helps the adolescents learn how to apply that skill in their everyday environment.
- Process group: In addition to our skills groups, we also provide process groups which focus on adolescents supporting and learning from one another.
- Expressive therapy: Uses creative outlets through art, music, or movement, promoting emotional expression and healing.
- Case management: These services are provided, as needed, to make referrals to mental health agencies or offer additional resources for parents.
