The Emergency Department at Intermountain Primary Children’s Hospital is designed for young patients and provides rapid, coordinated care. All our caregivers – nurses, physicians, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, imaging, and child life – specialize in care for children and teens. We provide family-centered care with a focus on minimizing pain, anxiety, and long-term impact following illness or traumatic injury.
Advanced Trauma Care
Families in Utah County and South Salt Lake County don’t need to travel long distances in emergencies. Having pediatric trauma services in Utah County saves critical time and improves outcomes for patients. All attending physicians in Primary Children's Emergency Department are board certified in Pediatric Emergency Medicine and Pediatrics.

Pediatric Life Flight
Life Flight's Pediatric team is the only dedicated pediatric transport service in the Intermountain West, specializing in children aged 30 days to 14+ years. The team's nursing experience, training, and physician support come directly from Primary Children's Hospital, a nationally recognized leader in pediatric care.
Neonatal Transport
Our neonatal team proudly offers air ambulance service for pre-term infants and infants less than 30 days old. The team consists of nurses and respiratory therapist specialists who are nationally recognized as leaders in neonatal care and transport. Using state-of-the-art transport incubators, our neonatal teams help infants with various health concerns.
