About Riverton Hospital
What sets us apart
Riverton Hospital is a nationally recognized community hospital with a commitment to meeting the healthcare needs of the rapidly growing population in southwest Salt Lake County. Riverton offers state-of-the art technology in a modern 97-bed facility with a medical staff of more than 250 doctors representing 30 specialties. Riverton is committed to offering a wide range of quality inpatient and outpatient services, including a Level IV trauma designation for our emergency department. With our highly experienced team of women’s and newborn caregivers, Riverton Hospital has become a top choice for maternity services. Our Level II newborn intensive care unit (NICU) was recently expanded to support our smallest patients. We have the busiest surgical robot in the nation and a growing Cancer Center with radiation oncology and infusion. Riverton caregivers take patient comfort, safety, and healing as their highest priority throughout each stay. Riverton is proud to have been recognized several times as one of America’s top 100 hospitals, by an independent study that evaluates cost efficiency and quality care.
An APEx accredited facility
Intermountain Cancer Center – Riverton Hospital successfully attained accreditation from the American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO) APEx - Accreditation Program for Excellence®. APEx provides external validation that a radiation oncology facility is delivering high-quality patient care. APEx is a voluntary, objective, and rigorous multi-step process during which a radiation oncology practice is evaluated using consensus-based standards. As part of that evaluation, we demonstrated our safety and quality processes and showed that we adhere to patient-centered care by promoting effective communication, coordinated treatments and strong patient engagement.
