As early as 3 months BEFORE you turn 65, you can enroll in Medicare. When you enroll, choose a Medicare Advantage plan from Humana, SCAN Health Plan, Select Health or UnitedHealthcare* and you’ll have exclusive access to Intermountain’s Senior Primary Care Clinics — where your care and coverage work hand in hand to keep you healthier.

Medicare eligibility: when can YOU enroll?

You have what’s called an “Initial Enrollment Period.” It starts 3 months before your 65th birthday, includes your birthday month, and ends 3 months after you turn 65.

A quick peek at the parts of Medicare

The federal government provides Medicare, a health insurance program made up of four parts. Each one covers a different aspect of your care.

Medicare Part A helps cover inpatient hospital and nursing home care, home healthcare, skilled nursing facility care and hospice.
Medicare Part B helps cover doctor visits, lab tests, outpatient services, outpatient surgery and some medical supplies.

Medicare Part C, Medicare Advantage Plans, covers all of Medicare Parts A and B, PLUS covers costs that they don’t.
