CenteringPregnancy™
CenteringPregnancy is a group prenatal care program that combines your checkups, childbirth sessions, and community support. Join other parents-to-be for longer visits, expert education, and a safe space to ask questions and prepare for birth.
Group prenatal care and childbirth education
CenteringPregnancy is a group-based prenatal care model that brings 10–12 patients together with a dedicated midwife team for combined checkups, childbirth education sessions, and community connection. Instead of multiple short prenatal visits, CenteringPregnancy offers in depth, two-hour prenatal sessions.
Families choose CenteringPregnancy because it blends prenatal care, childbirth education, and community support in one program. You’ll see the same midwife team, attend regularly scheduled prenatal sessions, and learn alongside other parents while preparing together for labor, birth, and life with a newborn.

Services included in our group prenatal care program
CenteringPregnancy brings together prenatal care classes and childbirth education in one program led by your midwife team. Each group session typically includes:
- Private health check (“belly check”). Your nurse midwife completes a private physical assessment, reviews labs, and answers personal health questions before the group portion begins.
- Self‑monitoring with guidance. You’ll learn to measure your own vitals (weight, blood pressure, temperature) with support, helping you build confidence and awareness about your health during pregnancy.
- Group childbirth preparation. Guided childbirth education classes cover labor and delivery, comfort options, birth plans, pain management, and what to expect in the hospital or birth setting.
- Prenatal education and newborn care. Sessions include topics such as body changes, nutrition, exercise, newborn care, safe sleep, breastfeeding, and postpartum recovery.
- Mental health and emotional support. Discussions address stress, mood, anxiety, and coping strategies, with resources for additional support if needed.
- Parenting and postpartum planning. You’ll explore early parenting skills, partner support, and how to plan for the first weeks at home with your baby.
- Postpartum reunion visit. Groups return about 4–6 weeks after birth to share experiences, ask questions, and reconnect with the care team and fellow parents.
