Angela Chavez
Student Programs Director
Angela has over ten years of experience working with students and various educational programming and leads the student programs team at Intermountain Health. She is lucky to lead a team of individuals who are passionate about serving our communities in patients through the clinical trainings we help facilitate.
Outside of work Angela likes to read, play golf and volleyball, and go on long walks with the family dogs.
Becki Westergard
Layton Hospital, McKay-Dee Hospital, Bear River Valley Hospital, Logan Regional Hospital, Cassia Regional Hospital
Becki is a Student Programs Coordinator at Intermountain Health, bringing over 20 years of dedicated service to the organization. She coordinates student experiences across Layton Hospital, McKay-Dee Hospital, Bear River Valley Hospital, Logan Regional Hospital, and Cassia Regional Hospital, creating pathways for students and schools connect with Intermountain and launch rewarding careers in healthcare. Becki’s passion for education and community is at the heart of her work. When she’s not at work she enjoys spending time with her kids, helping them raise lambs and pigs for the county fair each summer, and cheering on her favorite softball and basketball teams.
Cambria Thompson
Layton Hospital, McKay-Dee Hospital, Bear River Valley Hospital, Logan Regional Hospital, Cassia Regional Hospital
Cambria has been a dedicated member of Intermountain Health since 2006, with a strong focus on Student Programs throughout her tenure. She currently oversees student clinical experiences across northern Utah and southern Idaho, supporting hospitals including Layton, McKay-Dee, Bear River Valley, Logan Regional, and Cassia Regional Hospitals. Her work plays a vital role in shaping the next generation of healthcare professionals by fostering meaningful, hands-on learning opportunities.
Outside of work, Cambria thrives in the outdoors—whether she's hiking scenic trails, tending to her garden, or soaking up sunshine on the lake with family and friends. A creative at heart, she also enjoys sewing and tackling home improvement projects, always finding joy in building and beautifying the spaces around her.
Carlie Dickson
St. George Regional Hospital, Cedar City Hospital, Garfield Memorial Hospital, Sanpete Valley Hospital, Sevier Valley Hospital, Fillmore Community Hospital, Delta Community Hospital
Carlie has served with Intermountain Healthcare for 19 years, including the past 5 years as a Student Programs Coordinator. In her current role, she supports student engagement and development across seven hospitals in southern and central Utah: St. George Regional Hospital, Cedar City Hospital, Garfield Memorial Hospital, Sevier Valley Hospital, Sanpete Valley Hospital, Fillmore Community Hospital, and Delta Community Hospital. Carlie is passionate about creating meaningful learning experiences for future healthcare professionals.
Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family and watching her kids compete in their various sports and activities.
Elissa Pippin
Student Programs, Contract and Legal Consultant
Elissa joined Intermountain Healthcare as a Student Programs Contract and Legal Consultant, where she focuses on drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracting while supporting the development of strong programmatic relationships.
She brings experience in public policy and legislative process through her internship with the U.S. Senate’s Health, Education, Labor, and Pension policy team in Washinton, D.C., her internship with the Utah Medical Association, and her service as Amendment Clerk for the Utah Senate.
Outside of her legal and policy work, Elissa coaches Figure Skating and is actively engaged in efforts to introduce a new figure skating discipline, Synchronized Skating, to the 2034 Winter Olympic Games in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Emily Schuff
Primary Children's Hospitals and Medical Group Clinics
Emily joined SCL Health Legacy in November 2021 on the Talent Acquisition Team supporting the New Grad Nursing Program for the Colorado Front Range hospitals and recruitment for the Montana hospitals. She later transitioned to Intermountain Health’s Student Program’s Team in August 2023 as a Student Coordinator. She currently works with the University of Utah School of Medicine for medical student placements at Primary Children’s Hospitals in Salt Lake City and Lehi. She also coordinates all observation requests for Primary Children’s Hospitals and Medical Group Clinics in the Canyons and Desert regions. Emily enjoys being a part of the Student Programs Team to provide positive learning experiences for students at Intermountain Health!
Outside of work, Emily enjoys supporting her two teenage daughters with their sports and extracurricular activities. She appreciates quality time with her family, including traveling and playing games. She also loves to take long walks with neighborhood friends and her Maltese pup, Macie Moo.
Fabian Castillo
Alta View Hospital, Heber Valley Hospital, Intermountain Medical Center, LDS Hospital, Park City Hospital, Riverton Hospital, TOSH (The Orthopedic Specialty Hospital)
Fabian joined Intermountain Health in 2021 and currently serves as the Student Programs Coordinator, where he facilitates meaningful clinical experiences for students in the Salt Lake, Park City, and Heber Valley areas. He is known for his exceptional customer service, professional polish, and approachable nature.
Before stepping into his current role, Fabian served on the COVID-19 hotline, playing a vital part in supporting community health efforts during the height of the pandemic.
Outside of work, Fabian finds peace and inspiration in nature—often accompanied by his dog, who shares in every adventure. Whether hiking local trails or exploring new destinations, these experiences offer him a chance to recharge and reflect, deepening his appreciation for connection, diversity, and the world around him.
Judy Clemans
Medical Group – Canyons Region, Homecare, Hospice, Castell
Judy began her career at Intermountain Health in October 2002 as a part-time team member in Physician Recruiting, where she supported recruiters with mailing lists, advertising, and conference coordination. Over time, she transitioned into a full-time role and joined the Medical Group Human Resources team. Throughout her more than 20-year journey with Intermountain, Judy’s role has continually evolved, ultimately leading her to focus on student placements. Today, she is a valued member of the Student Programs Team, where she continues to make a meaningful impact by supporting the next generation of healthcare professionals.
Outside of work, Judy enjoys living an active lifestyle and cherishing time with her family and friends. She loves playing pickleball and taking long walks, especially when it means connecting with loved ones or enjoying the outdoors. Judy and her husband are proud parents of four adult children and delighted grandparents to eight grandchildren, who bring joy and energy to their lives.
Kimberly Conway
Student Pipeline and Career Development
Kim is a committed member of the Student Programs team, specializing in Student Career and Pipeline Development. Her expertise and passion for supporting her team and other caregivers make her a key contributor to the team’s success. She began her journey with SCL Health, now Intermountain Health, in 2016 and has held various instructing and leadership training positions before transitioning to her current role. Kim focuses on improving the conversion rates of students and increasing awareness of the Student Programs team both internally across the system and with partner schools. Her commitment to enhancing student experiences and fostering strong partnerships makes her an invaluable asset to the organization.
Outside of work, Kim enjoys an active lifestyle. She loves skiing, playing tennis and pickleball, and hiking in the beautiful Rocky Mountains of Colorado. These activities allow her to stay fit, enjoy the great outdoors, and find balance in her busy professional life.
Leina Vakameilalo
Administrative Coordinator
Leina’ala has been part of the Intermountain Health team for five years, bringing energy and organization to every role she’s taken on. She spent four years coordinating operations in Specimen Processing at The Central Laboratory at IMC before joining Student Programs, where she now helps students gain real-world experience in healthcare. As an administrative coordinator, her work includes coordinating observation opportunities in Utah County and the Salt Lake Valley, placing students in business entities, supporting instructor compliance and contributing to a variety of student-focused projects. Leina’ala is passionate about helping future healthcare professionals take their first steps into the field.
Outside of work, she loves spending time with her little family, creating new traditions, discovering delicious food spots and winding down with a good thriller or crime show.
Michele Gil
Medical Group, Desert Region
Michele joined Intermountain Health in 2022 and currently serves as the Student Programs Coordinator for the Desert Region, where she supports student placements across Nevada and Southwest Utah clinics. She is a relationship builder and lifelong learner who is known for her approachable style, responsiveness and attention to detail. Michele is committed to creating smooth, supportive experiences for students— ensuring they feel supported from start to finish.
Before stepping into her current role at Intermountain, Michele was a Senior Executive Assistant to regional C-suite and VP leaders in Ambulatory Care, Communications and Finance.
Outside of work, Michele enjoys spending quality time with family and friends, relaxing with her two dogs, traveling, and expressing creativity through cooking and baking.
Teresa Asiedu
Primary Children's Hospitals and Outpatient Facilities
Teresa joined Intermountain Health in 2020, dedicating her time to supporting the next generation of healthcare professionals, helping them gain experiences that will prepare them for their future careers. Teresa often says she works with the best team in the organization and is known for bringing energy, positivity, and a sense of fun to the workplace. With her strong business background, Teresa brings valuable skills and insight to her role, blending professional expertise with genuine care for people.
Outside of work, Teresa and her husband keep busy raising their four children. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, cooking, traveling and curling up with a good book. She also loves the beach and tries to squeeze in as much pool time as possible during the summer months.
Tiffany Clawson
Student Programs Manager
Tiffany has been part of Intermountain Health since 2001, dedicating most of her career to Student Programs. Over the years, she’s witnessed the program evolve and grow, and she’s proud to have played a role in shaping meaningful experiences for students. One of her greatest joys is seeing former students return to Intermountain as professionals, a testament to the impact of their early experiences. Tiffany thrives on building relationships—with students, school partners, and her incredible team and finds inspiration in watching students grow and succeed.
Outside of work, Tiffany is a proud mom to four kids and two lovable dogs. She enjoys family time, discovering new places to eat, and finding joy in everyday moments.
