Modern vending machines are evolving beyond snacks and drinks to provide critical health-related products and information. Several of these innovative machines are being piloted in Utah. Weber and Morgan Counties have vending type machines that dispense items such as fentanyl test strips, naloxone kits and instruction for opioid overdose emergencies, printed resources leading to links and contacts for a variety of community resources.
Intermountain’s COMPASS Program is one of the resources provided.
More resources:
- PDF with links to Community Resources
- Ogden Community Resources
- PDF for instructions on using Narcan (Naloxone)
By offering discreet, convenient access to these essential supplies and information, these new vending machines play an important role in promoting public health and supporting communities in need.
This program is brought to Weber and Morgan communities in partnership with Intermountain Health’s COMPASS program, Weber Human Services, and Weber – Morgan Health Department.
